Elon Musk to Step Down from Twitter CEO Role If Users Vote Him Out
Elon Musk’s ascent to the Twitter throne has been one of the most talked-about subjects on Twitter in recent months. Musk purchased the microblogging service in October for $44 billion. Since then, he has made a number of changes to Twitter, including sacking a sizable portion of the staff, charging $8 for blue checkmarks, and conducting polls to gauge public sentiment on significant issues. And he has one unbreakable rule for any surveys he conducts: Musk follows the findings.
With that in mind, the latest poll conducted by Elon Musk asks users whether he should step down as head of Twitter. So, in whose favor do you think the scales are turning? Let’s find out!
Elon Musk Might Quit Being Twitter CEO
Musk posted a poll asking the straightforward but difficult question, “Should I stand down as CEO of Twitter?” after receiving a lot of anger on a crucial modification to Twitter’s link-sharing policy that was later restored. He continued, “I will follow the findings of this poll.”

As of the time this article was written, the poll had garnered more than 12 million votes (only 0.05% of all Twitter users), and it appeared like Musk would have to resign as CEO of Twitter. With over 57% of the vote, Yes is leading by a wide margin.
Now, the most urgent problem isn’t that Musk, who has been in charge of Twitter for two months, might (finally) be jumping ship. The problem is that Musk hasn’t yet found a suitable substitute for the job. Musk then announced that “there is no succession” because “No one wants the job who can genuinely keep Twitter alive,” in response to a Twitter user.
