How to Use ChatGPT on iPhone with Siri
Using ChatGPT with Siri on your iPhone is a straightforward operation in and of itself. It does, however, have some prerequisites and links that you must have, so double-check that you have them all before continuing.
Requirements to Get ChatGPT to Work with Siri
1. Siri ChatGPT Shortcut
A convenient shortcut that will run on your iPhone is how to integrate ChatGPT with Siri. So, you must download the Siri shortcut. The shortcut, known as Siri Pro, was created by YouTuber Tim Harris. Even though the shortcut is called Siri Pro, you may rename it to anything you like. Download the Siri Pro (Get) shortcut to getting started, but don’t run it just now. Continue reading after downloading.
2. ChatGPT API Key
You must utilize ChatGPT’s API in order to use its services with Siri on your iPhone. You may access the ChatGPT API key via your OpenAI account. Go to the OpenAI API keys page and log in to your account to obtain that. You can choose to “Generate new secret key” from this menu. To generate an API key for use with Siri Pro, click on it.

Copy the OpenAI API key after finishing. Keep in mind that you cannot duplicate the same API key again once you’ve copied it and closed the pop-up box. So store it securely.

To generate and copy the API key to your clipboard, open this website on your iPhone. Visit the above link after creating an OpenAI account if you don’t already have one.
How to Set up and Use ChatGPT on iPhone with Siri
You may now use the Siri shortcut to see how it works after downloading the Siri Pro shortcut and copying the API key:
- To access the Siri Pro shortcut that was downloaded, launch the Shortcuts app.

- This is where you may get the Siri Pro shortcut. To access the shortcut’s settings, tap the ellipsis symbol (three dots).
Note: On our iPhone, we changed the Siri shortcut’s name from Siri Pro to Siri Bro.

3. Under the second dialog box titled “Text“, you will see the message – “Insert ChatGPT API Key here.” Paste your previously copied API key here and tap “Done” at the top right.

4. You’re done, that’s all! Your iPhone’s Siri is now integrated with ChatGPT. By tapping on Siri Pro in the Shortcuts app or by saying Hey Siri followed by the shortcut’s name, you can activate the shortcut (Bro, Pro, or your own renamed title). As you can see here, ChatGPT Siri correctly reacted when I asked it to book a two-day trip to London.

However, keep in mind that depending on ChatGPT’s server load or outright downtime, the shortcut might not always function. Nonetheless, in my experience, it typically operated without issue.
